During the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, the final was between the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and the Gujarat Titans (GT). There was a special moment between Virat Kohli and Sai Sudharsan as they bury their heated exchange before the 17th over of the match.
This moment happened after there was a heated exchange between the two cricketers. Sai was seen approaching him at the non-striker’s end and spoke with him briefly. Although it was unclear what Virat Kohli and Sai said to each other, Sai’s gestures appeared to hint at Kohli’s potential ejection.

Sai and Kohli were seen shaking hands ahead of the 17th over and ended their rift. This showcases the respect of the young cricketer for the former India captain. Virat Kohli went unbeaten on the score of 75 runs as RCB chased down the target of 156 runs with ease and secured the back-to-back trophies of the IPL.
Why did Kohli and Sai have a heated exchange?
Following Shubman Gill’s wicket during GT’s innings, Kohli approached Sudharsan after nearly every ball, and the stump mic captured some of their talk. Kohli was heard saying that Sai was worried after the first wicket and that he was under a lot of pressure as a GT opener.
The sledging looked to have an effect, as Sai mistimed a shot which went straight up in the air in the fourth over and was finally dismissed for 12 runs, putting pressure on the side as both openers went back early.
Coming to the match, RCB won the game by 5 wickets, with Virat Kohli winning the Player of the Match playing a sensational knock of 75* runs on the night and chasing down the total of 156 runs with ease.
GT were asked to bat first they lost Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan were dismissed early on as they were on the backfoot. The Titans kept on losing wickets at regular intervals. They could only get to the score of 155/8 in their 20 overs. As Washington Sundar played a fighting knock of 50 runs.
