What We Know About Jordynne Grace’s WWE Status After SmackDown Absence

Jordynne Grace has been around WWE, but fans have not been seeing much of her on SmackDown lately.

During a Fightful Select Q&A, Sean Ross Sapp was asked about Grace’s status and why she has not been featured much on television. Sapp explained that Grace has still been at WWE TV tapings and has been working Main Event, but that has not led to much SmackDown time.

“Where’s Jordynne Grace? Feel like we haven’t seen her on TV in a while. Besides Main Event, she’s been at TVs, she’s been backstage at them. I know Lexington, they flew her in and she was set to fly back before the show was even started. She didn’t get used. She’s been working Main Event a lot.”

Grace suffered an ankle injury earlier this year, and Sapp noted that she has not really been able to build momentum since then. He also said he does not understand why WWE has not found more for her, because Grace brings a different look and style to the roster.

“Honestly, she has not got her wheels, like, moving since her injury earlier this year and she’s been just largely off TV ever since then. I don’t get it. Nobody looks like her and wrestles like her and I just always thought it was an easy way to book somebody.”

Grace has only had one SmackDown match since February 28, and that was a loss to Tiffany Stratton.

“But she’s had one SmackDown match since the end of February, since February 28th, one SmackDown match and it was her losing to Tiffany Stratton.”

She has still worked Main Event matches, including wins over Zelina Vega and Kiana James, and she has also done some dark matches. Still, she has not been used in a major way on SmackDown.

“She’s worked Main Event a few times. She beat Zelina, she beat Kiana James, but that’s it. And a couple dark matches, I think, but just not. Not being used whatsoever.”

This comes after Grace’s ankle injury changed bigger plans earlier this year. Back in March, WWE had discussed a WrestleMania 42 triple threat match with Giulia, Jordynne Grace, and Tiffany Stratton for the Women’s United States Championship before Grace got hurt.

Grace may be healthy enough to be at tapings and work matches again, but she has not been placed back into a steady SmackDown role. For now, she appears to be waiting for WWE to give her something meaningful after losing momentum from the injury.
