Backlash is looming as the post-WrestleMania PLE rolls through Tampa this weekend. One of the scheduled matches on the card will see The Miz and Kit Wilson team up against Danhausen and a partner of his choice. Danhausen was disappointed that he had to find a partner, expressing to Nick Aldis, “That is work.” So, who will the Very Evil, Very Nice Superstar get to team with him? Here are some of the names being kicked around as Danhausen’s Mystery Partner for Backlash.
La Parka
La Parka is a long-time character in Lucha Libre who made a name for themselves in WCW during the Monday Night War. In 2026, AAA’s La Parka has a different wrestler under the costume.
However, the character is still the dancing skull and bones. With that stank leg and hip wiggle, The Chairman of pro wrestling would be a great fit for Danhausen’s entrance.
La Parka was last seen on WWE television as a surprise entrant in the Royal Rumble. So, it’s clear that WWE wants La Parka to become a crossover star from AAA.
Joe Hendry
WWE believes in Joe Hendry, and so does Danhausen. Joe Hendry was once pegged to be a wrestler who would never prosper in WWE. Many chalked him up as a “meme” character.
Those same detractors also questioned Danhausen’s potential in the TKO-owned company. However, Danhausen and Joe Hendry proved naysayers wrong.

While Joe Hendry would make sense, it is unlikely. The former TNA Champion is currently a Raw Superstar. While Danhausen is technically a free agent, this Tag Team Match features The Miz and Kit Wilson, who are on SmackDown.
Oba Femi
You can’t rule out The Ruler as a frontrunner for Danhausen’s mystery partner. Like the vampire-clad Superstar, Oba Femi is also a free agent. Therefore, he could plausibly wrestle SmackDown talents, even though he is featured on Raw more often.
That said, Brock Lesnar is still listed as a free agent. However, it’s believed Brock Lesnar retired after he lost to Oba Femi on WrestleMania 42 Sunday.
Mr. Iguana
La Parka isn’t the only AAA talent that’s being considered for Danhausen’s mystery partner. The enigmatic Mr. Iguana is also in the running.
With La Yesca in hand (literally), Mr. Iguana has won the hearts of WWE fans…much like Danhausen. In fact, like Danhausen, Mr. Iguana quickly became a top merchandise seller within 24 hours of being introduced to the WWE Universe. It would only make sense to pair these two up.
John Cena
John Cena is one of the few people that Danhausen reached out to be his Tag Team partner. Is it a coincidence that after sharing a moment at WrestleMania 42 together, John Cena has now been announced for Backlash: Tampa?
The Never Seen 17 teased that something big would happen at Backlash:
John Cena’s last match was against Gunther at Saturday Night’s Main Event this past December. The GOAT insists he won’t return to the ring. So, John Cena teaming with Danhausen is a long shot.
R-Truth
Although John Cena can’t team with Danhausen, perhaps his brother Ron Cena can? Could John Cena set up R-Truth to be his stand-in as Danhausen’s mystery partner?
Weirder things have happened in pro wrestling…especially when it comes to R-Truth. Currently, Truth is one-half of the WWE Tag Team Champions with Damian Priest. Heading into the weekend, Rise Up doesn’t have a match on the Backlash card. So, R-Truth is free to team with Danhausen.
These two already have chemistry together. Danhausen recently inserted himself in a match where Priest and Truth defended their Championships against Kit Wilson and The Miz. As the match unfolded, the master of the curse jumped on the apron to receive a hot tag from R-Truth. In the end, Danhausen helped the former Judgment Day stars retain the gold.
Perhaps, R-Truth can return the favor and get some revenge on his former Awesome Truth teammate. Or maybe R-Truth thinks that after that hot tag, Danhausen is his teammate after all?
Elton Prince
Many WWE fans are speculating that Kit Wilson’s Pretty Deadly Tag Team partner, Elton Prince, might team with Danhausen. It’s been over one year since Elton Prince broke his neck in a match against Fraxiom.
Since then, Kit Wilson has reinvented himself as one of the hottest acts in WWE. It would only make sense for Elton Prince to want revenge on Kit Wilson for moving on.
However, toxic lovers, be warned. Elton Prince had a setback and had neck surgery once again in January 2026. It is highly doubtful that he will be able to return as Danhausen’s mystery partner.
Finn Balor
When Danhausen burst onto the scene, he put a curse on Dominik Mysterio. The Very Evil, Very Nice one wanted Dirty Dom’s gold, but The Judgment Day heckled Danhausen for his troubles.
At least, all of them except Finn Balor. In fact, Finn joked that he was new on the roster, implying the Club should give Danhausen a chance.
Not too long later, The Judgment Day would sever ties with The Prince. With Finn Balor as a full-fledged babyface, he has reincarnated his Demon persona. The Demon recently posed with Danhausen, indicating this could be a Very Nice, Very Demonic pairing.
The Hurricane
Stand back! A former Cruiserweight Champion could come through and be Danhausen’s Tag Team partner.
Many WWE fans agree that The Hurricane crawled so that characters like Danhausen could run. It would be a treat for the WWE Universe to see these two join forces to take down the evil that is The Miz and Kit Wilson.
Seeing Shane Helms don the green tights one more time for WWE isn’t out of the question. The former Three Count star is currently a Producer for the company.
Who Will Be Danhausen’s Mystery Partner?
While we don’t know who will team with Danhausen, it could be a good opportunity for any star. However, anyone who debuts or returns to WWE at Backlash has a bad track record for being released. See the conspiracy here!
