Rajasthan Royals’ (RR) Ravindra Jadeja delivered an all-round performance to help his side seal a convincing 40-run win against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in their IPL 2026 clash in Lucknow on April 22.
Batting first, Rajasthan posted a total of 159/6, where Jadeja played a crucial role with the bat. He scored a composed unbeaten 43 off 29 balls, including two boundaries and a six, on a difficult pitch where most batters struggled to score. Rajasthan kept losing wickets at regular intervals, but Jadeja provided the late push the team needed. The 37-year-old also made an impact with the ball, picking up a wicket while conceding 29 runs from his four overs at an economy rate of 7.25.
During the post-match presentation, Jadeja, who earned the Player of the Match award, reflected on his performance and the pitch. “Feeling good, winning Man of the match. I want to dedicate the award to the education minister of Gujarat [which is his wife],” Jadeja said. “She said yesterday that I will do well and I did. Wicket was not easy to bat because the ball was seaming and swinging. I wanted to play long as much as I can. In T20 cricket, you never know last over you can cash in and we did.”
So far this season, the veteran all-rounder has scored 128 runs from five innings and has picked up six crucial wickets in seven matches at an economy rate of 6.71.
With this win, the Royals have now moved to second position in the points table with five wins from seven matches. They will next face Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on April 25 in Jaipur.
