Will Ospreay Reacts To AEW Return, Lineups For Upcoming Episodes Of TNA iMPACT!

Will Ospreay returned to action in March following neck surgery and recently opened up about his comeback, including stepping back into the ring in Japan during a new interview.

Ospreay made his return to All Elite Wrestling programming at AEW Revolution 2026 after spending several months sidelined due to the injury, which ultimately required surgery. He had originally been written off television following AEW x NJPW: Forbidden Door.

Beyond AEW, Ospreay also returned to New Japan Pro Wrestling for the first time in two years at Sakura Genesis. At the show, he teamed up with his United Empire stablemates The Great-O-Khan and HENARE to pick up a win over El Desperado, Taichi, and Yuya Uemura.

Speaking with NJPW’s official website, Ospreay reflected on his return.

You can check out some highlights from the interview below:

On how he’s feeling since being back: “A little sore. I just had a match with Jon Moxley (at AEW Dynasty) that was pretty hard on my body, so I’m a little stiff, a little bit sore, but still ready to go.”

On returning to Japan: “I’d always said to myself that I would be back in NJPW after two years away, but being back in Ryogoku was so special, especially to do it with the United Empire boys.”

On being out of action for six months: “I didn’t know how bad my neck really was until they told me I couldn’t wrestle. Coming back, the key thing for me was I didn’t want to be a shadow or a parody of myself in any way, so it made it all the more important to be able to show I could hang in Japan, at the same level of work ethic, both physically and in terms of my psyche.”

The System and Arianna Grace are set to defend their championships on next week’s episode of TNA iMPACT!, as announced during Thursday’s show.

It was confirmed that Bear Bronson and Brian Myers will put the TNA World Tag Team Titles on the line against Nic Nemeth and K.C. Navarro.

Also announced for the show, Eric Young will go one-on-one with EC3 in a No Disqualification match. In tag team action, Leon Slater will team up with Moose to take on The System’s Eddie Edwards and Cedric Alexander.
