Winnipeg Jets at Vegas Golden Knights

Winnipeg Jets at Vegas Golden Knights
The Jets’ playoff hopes took a major hit following Saturday’s 7-1 blowout loss to the Philadelphia Flyers, and it would take a miracle for things to go their way. Per MoneyPuck, Winnipeg’s odds sit at 0.5% this morning and they can be eliminated from contention tonight.
“We have three games left and we have a road trip here and all we can do is try and control what we can control and that is being ready to go against Vegas,” said Josh Morrissey. “There are six possible points left. Can we get all six and see where the cards fall? That is all we can do.”

There are a few scenarios that could eliminate the Jets: a regulation loss to Vegas tonight, an L.A. win vs. Seattle, or one point vs. Vegas combined with one point by L.A. vs. Seattle. A lot would need to go Winnipeg’s way, hence the less-than-one percent odds.

Winnipeg will roll with a different look down the lineup. The team recalled forwards Nikita Chibrikov and Brayden Yager yesterday on emergency conditions, which now makes sense as Neal Pionk, Alex Iafallo and Vladislav Namestnikov will sit tonight. Yager will make his NHL debut, while Colin Miller comes in for Pionk on the blue line and Connor Hellebuyck makes his 10th consecutive start in net.

The season series between the two clubs sits at 1-1, with tonight marking the final meeting of the season.
