WrestleCon Promoter Says Carlos Silva Reimbursed Him For Leon Slater’s Flight & Hotel Costs After Being Pulled From Mark Hitchcock Memorial Supershow 2026 Event

As noted before, TNA Wrestling recently changed their policy no longer allowing contracted TNA talents to work on the same indies shows as AEW talents, specifically in regards to matches involving TNA talents competing against contracted AEW talents. Among the matches pulled by TNA included Leon Slater’s match against Ricochet for WrestleCon’s Mark Hitchcock Memorial Supershow 2026 event. WrestleCon promoter Michael Bochicchio had mentioned in a recent interview with Post Wrestling that Slater was not booked to lose the match and there had been no communication with TNA over the cancelled match.

Bochicchio provided an update on Thursday on Twitter stating that he had recently spoken to Silva and was reimbursed for the costs for Slater’s flight and hotel.

“He took a beating the last few weeks, so I want to give @carlossilva his props today. A week ago, he called me personally to explain his reasoning for pulling the match. He then asked if there was anything he could do to make up for it. I simply asked that he reimburse me for Leon’s flights/hotel since he was no longer wrestling for us. Today, I was reimbursed for the flight/hotel as promised. Thank you Carlos.”

So let’s talk about coincidences, let’s talk about timing, synchronicities, the universe. This was always meant to happen, it was always meant to happen in Cleveland. A known EC3 story, the origin of EC3 started in TNA in Cleveland, the last time they were in that building, many years ago, because this idiot, this curly-haired dumbass named Derrick Bateman was fired from the WWE and he was panhandling looking for work… Fast forward, here we are, Rebellion, return to the Wolstein Center. Stars aligned, triangles connected and it was always meant to be so, to be back at Rebellion in Cleveland… it was great.” (Transcript h/t: Fightful.com)
