The WTA Madrid quarterfinals are on Tuesday and continue into Wednesday. Only half of the round is being played today, as we’re on a two-day split. While the matches are split up, the action is solid on both days. The World’s No. 1 and No. 9 will play today, just not against each other. Here are both of the matches on the Tuesday card.
WTA Madrid
Sabalenka – Baptiste: Time 11:00 EST
H2H: 1-0
Aryna Sabalenka and Hailey Baptiste will meet for the second time in their careers, and in 2026. Their 2026 WTA Miami quarterfinal match was really entertaining. While Sabalenka won in straight sets, both of them were 6-4, and she had to work for it. One of the things Baptiste can do so well is bring her best against anyone, and really force them to earn their win over her. Aside from the fact that Sabalenka is 10-0 in her last ten, and has won her last two tournaments, what else can you really say about this remarkable woman?
Best Bet to Make
Even though Baptiste put up a good fight in Miami, it would seem that the books don’t think much of her chances. There are some places where she is a 9-1 favorite. The average is closer to 7.5-1, but the message is clear: Baptiste isn’t expected to win at all. There are several options here, and I like both of them. One option is taking the under on 19.5 games at 2.05 on 10Bet. The second option is taking Baptiste -5.5 games at 2.16 on 1xBet.
That being said, Under 19.5 games is a value bet for sure.

Fernandez – Andreeva: Time 07:00 EST
H2H: 1-1
The last time Leylah Fernandez and Mirra Andreeva locked horns was during the 2023 season. They played twice that year. One of their matches was a three-set round-of-16 meeting at WTA Hong Kong on a hardcourt, which was won by Fernandez. The other match was in this very competition in the first round, which Andreeva won in straight sets. Two matches, one year, and two different outcomes. While Fernandez is having a 9-10 overall year, Andreeva is 24-7, including 10-1 on clay, and she has two titles.
Best Bet to Make
The books favor Andreeva for a solid reason. She’s not only having a much better year, but she’s also a much better player on clay. That statement includes both this year and overall. She didn’t have much of a problem with Fernandez the last time they met here, and I really don’t expect that she will this time around, either. Just look at how poorly Fernandez has done this year. What about her plays suggests she will upset Andreeva on clay?
That being said, betting on Andreeva 2:0 is a value bet for sure.
