WWE just made a behind-the-scenes move that could end up changing how the product looks on TV.
Hunter Selby has confirmed he’s joining WWE as the new Director of Show Production and Design, announcing the news himself on LinkedIn as he steps into a major creative role within the company. Selby made it clear he’s ready to get started and hinted that fans won’t have to wait long to see his work show up on screen.
“I’m excited to share that I’ve accepted a new position as Director of Show Production and Design at WWE. I’m looking forward to this new chapter, and to working on some designs that will hopefully be debuting on screens soon!”
This isn’t just a random hire either. Selby brings serious credentials with him, including multiple Emmy nominations tied to high-profile productions.
He was nominated in 2023 for his lighting work on American Idol, and again in 2025 for both SNL50: The Homecoming Concert and another run with American Idol. That kind of background suggests WWE is investing heavily in upgrading its visual presentation.
The role itself is key. Show production and design touches everything from stage setup and lighting to the overall look and feel of weekly programming and premium live events. With WWE continuing to evolve its presentation, especially after WrestleMania 42, bringing in someone with that level of experience could signal noticeable changes ahead.
Selby even teased that some of his designs could start appearing on WWE programming soon, which means fans may start spotting differences in how shows are produced in the near future.
WWE has been making moves both on-screen and behind the scenes, and this one could have a bigger impact than most realize.
