WWE Announces 4 Matches for WrestleMania Festivities » TWNP-Wrestling News

Earlier this week, WWE nixed two women’s matches from the WrestleMania card. As we head into the Showcase of the Immortals, Fanatics is hosting WWE World in Las Vegas. Much like in previous years with WWE Axxess, WWE World is hosting Exhibition Matches for fans in attendance. Festivities kicked off today with Tatum Paxley defending the NXT North American Women’s Championship successfully against Alba Fyre. With many wrestlers clamoring to make the last-minute WrestleMania card, WWE announces 4 matches for WrestleMania week.

WrestleMania Week Matches: A Long-Standing Tradition

There is nothing in the world like WrestleMania Week for WWE. This annual tradition started back in the 1990s as an afternoon convention. Now, it’s a full-week-long phenomenon, with live podcasts, fan meet-and-greets, and so much more.

As part of the experience, WWE sometimes hosts “Exhibition Matches” to make up for long lines and to add value to the experience. In 2001, Crash Holly and Mark Henry brawled all over the area over the 24/7 Championship.

Years later, in 2019, a young Gunther, wrestling under the name WALTER, competed against Jordan Delvin, who would go on to become JD McDonagh. Both men will be on this year’s WrestleMania card, as Gunther faces Seth Rollins on Night 1, while the former Jordan Devlin challenges for the Intercontinental Title in a Ladder Match on Night 2.

WWE World kicked off today. WWE World runs Thursday, April 16 – Monday, April 20, 2026, at the Las Vegas Convention Center South Hall. Each day features a new matchup with talent not on the current WrestleMania card.
