WWE Announces New Performance Center Rookie Class Featuring Multiple Rising Talents

WWE unveiled its newest class of Performance Center recruits this week, introducing four new names set to begin the next stage of their wrestling careers inside the company’s developmental system.

Among the biggest standouts in the group is Marie Malenko, the daughter of wrestling legend Dean Malenko. WWE announced that she will compete under the ring name “Lacey Simon” moving forward. The newest class also includes Mason Rook, Nicole Martinez, and Marcus Brown.

Malenko already picked up experience before arriving in WWE, including competing in Japan for Pro Wrestling NOAH after attending a WWE tryout earlier this year. Her signing is especially notable considering her father currently works behind the scenes for All Elite Wrestling.

Mason Rook’s addition had already been expected following recent appearances on WWE NXT television. Rook recently made his in-ring debut on WWE programming and has already started building momentum within the brand.

Nicole Martinez may already be familiar to independent wrestling fans under the name Nikki Blackheart. Martinez also worked a dark match ahead of this week’s episode of NXT before officially being announced as part of the class.

Meanwhile, Marcus Brown joins WWE from the bodybuilding world after previously participating in a WWE tryout during 2025.

WWE has continued heavily investing in fresh talent through the Performance Center system, combining second-generation wrestlers, independent standouts, and athletes from outside the wrestling industry as the company searches for its next breakout names.

Which member of WWE’s newest rookie class do you think has the highest ceiling? Let us know your thoughts and leave your feedback in the comments.
