WWE used NXT Great American Bash to officially reveal the brand’s next Premium Live Event. After all, NXT and The CW are far from finished.
A video aired announcing that NXT Heatwave will take place on Sunday, August 30, at Bert Ogden Arena in Edinburg, Texas, with tickets set to go on sale on Wednesday, July 8. It was also marketed as an event with AAA. We will have to see what they book to fill up the card.
Heatwave has become one of NXT’s biggest annual shows over the last few years. WWE first brought the name back in 2022, borrowing it from the classic ECW event, and it has been part of the NXT calendar every year since. Before coming to NXT, Heatwave was one of ECW’s signature pay-per-views during the 1990s.
The announcement didn’t reveal any matches, but that will likely change over the next several weeks as the fallout from Great American Bash begins to unfold on The CW. By the time Heatwave rolls around at the end of August, several of NXT’s biggest rivalries should be ready for another chapter.
We will keep a close eye open for more Heatwave matches. Only time will tell what they book, but NXT is going into a new era at this point, and fans are in for a wild ride.
