WWE Clash in Italy is set for this weekend, and a new backstage update is giving a better idea of which stars currently sit near the top of WWE’s long-term creative plans.
According to WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select, Roman Reigns, Rhea Ripley, and Brock Lesnar are viewed internally as creative favorites among those familiar with WWE’s future direction. It was also noted that plans remain fluid and subject to change.
Roman Reigns is scheduled to defend the WWE World Heavyweight Championship against Jacob Fatu in a Tribal Combat Match, while Rhea Ripley is set to defend the WWE Women’s Championship against Jade Cargill during the ESPN portion of the event.
Meanwhile, Brock Lesnar continues his comeback feud with Oba Femi after WWE recently used a WrestleMania “retirement” angle before quickly bringing The Beast back to television.
While creative directions can always shift, the idea that Reigns, Ripley, and Lesnar are currently viewed as priority names internally says a lot about where WWE’s focus may be heading after Clash in Italy.
Do you think Roman Reigns, Rhea Ripley, and Brock Lesnar should be WWE’s biggest creative priorities right now? Let us know in the comments.
