WWE fans who have been complaining about expensive ticket prices may finally catch a break.
After WWE announced 10 new main roster house shows for July and August, Bryan Alvarez revealed the company’s goal is for these live events to be far more affordable than RAW or SmackDown tickets.
“No surprise, but the idea is that WWE house show tickets this summer will be far more affordable.”
Alvarez later expanded on that during Wrestling Observer Live and specifically mentioned families struggling with the current prices for WWE television events.
“I guess the number one thing that I heard was the idea is that these are going to be much more affordable shows. So if you’re one of those people that’s been complaining, like, ‘I’d like to take the family to Raw, but my God, these tickets.’”
WWE ticket prices have become a major talking point over the past couple of years as premium live events, RAW, and SmackDown costs continued climbing higher and higher in many markets. Alvarez also defended the return of more WWE house shows overall, saying live events still matter for wrestler development and experience.
“I think that house shows are an important part of professional wrestling.”
He also explained why he believes wrestlers need as many live matches as possible. Alvarez finished by saying he’s glad WWE is bringing back more live events again this summer.
“If you are not on the main roster of a major company, you should be going out there getting as many dates as you possibly can.”
“I’m glad to see that WWE’s got some house show dates.”
At this point, WWE appears to be trying to balance out the rising cost complaints by offering fans cheaper alternatives outside of televised events.
Do you think WWE ticket prices have gotten too expensive lately, or is the company still worth the price fans are paying? Leave your thoughts and feedback in the comments below.
