The road to WWE Backlash continues tonight, as WWE Raw is live at 8/7c on Netflix from Sames Auto Arena in Laredo, TX.
Roman Reigns Gets Counsel From The Usos About Jacob Fatu
The show kicks off with WWE World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns seated in a room with his cousins, The Usos. Reigns says the past is the past, but they’re always blood. He doesn’t understand where Jacob Fatu is coming from. Everyone had two years to take advantage of him while he took a back seat.
He procrastinated, so Reigns came back and beat CM Punk. Jimmy Uso doesn’t disagree with Reigns, but he does agree with Jacob. Jacob wants to upgrade his household, but not at Reigns’ expense. Jey Uso says Fatu is dangerous. They’ve watched him drop people one by one.
They left him out there for a reason. If Fatu beats Reigns, he takes it all: the title, the Ula Fala, everything. This is it. It can’t be all about respect. Jey says there have to be consequences. Reigns is the Tribal Chief. Reigns ponders and says, “Consequences.”
They’re not doing charity. He’ll address this later tonight. Reigns appreciates the Usos. Jey and Jimmy shake hands. Jey says, “Family first.” Reigns puts his hand over theirs and says, “The first family.” The video wraps up and we move on.
Bron Breakker Confronts Seth Rollins
Jacob Fatu is shown seated backstage, thinking about what could happen tonight. We shoot inside the arena, where we hear the familiar sounds of Seth Rollins’ theme. “Burn it down!” Rollins makes his way to the ring. Rollins, dressed in black, stands in the center of the ring as the loud Laredo crowd sings his song.
Rollins shouts, “Laredo, Texas, welcome to Monday Night Rollins!” He is a revolutionary. He is a visionary. He is Seth “Freakin” Rollins. Rollins says he has a lot of ground to cover tonight. There is a reason he lost to Gunther at WrestleMania, and it’s not because Gunther was better than him on that night.
There’s a reason why Roman Reigns is walking around with his World Heavyweight Championship, and it is not because Reigns pinned his shoulders to the mat. The reason for those things is one and the same: Bron Breakker. Rollins knows Breakker is in the back with nine staples in the back of his head.
He says but they’ve got business to attend to and a score to settle, so Breakker can bring his “pea brain” out here to finish it. Bron Breakker heads to the ring with WWE Hall of Famer Paul Heyman in tow. Breakker and Rollins stand face to face and Rollins tells Breakker that he gave Breakker the world on a silver platter.
Rollins says Breakker is the reason he’s been on the losing end and asks Breakker why. Heyman gets Breakker to step back and gives Breakker the mic. Breakker asks Rollins what he gave him and Bronson Reed. Breakker tells Rollins all he and Reed did was put out fires Rollins started and to fight all his battles.
Breakker tells Rollins that what he needed was Heyman. Rollins takes Breakker on a ride down memory lane. Rollins talks about how he asked Shawn Michaels who the best worker in NXT was and Michaels said Breakker. Rollins then tells Breakker that he hand picked Breakker to be in The Vision.
He tells Breakker that he’s unique and that he can be the biggest star in the industry because he has everything except one thing and Rollins points at his head. Rollins says he knows better than anyone what it’s like to bet on yourself and the difference between them is Breakker tries and Rollins succeeds.
Rollins says when he bet on himself he got championships and when Breakker bet on himself he got Austin Theory and Logan Paul and happy endings from Paul Heyman. Rollins says Breakker isn’t ready. Breakker says he’s always ready and doesn’t need Rollins and tells Rollins that he’s getting old and his body is breaking down.
Breakker talks about losing to the best but at least he didn’t lose to Rollins. Breakker tells Rollins that Rollins is the best wrestler in the entire world at being number two. Rollins calls Breakker Baby Steiner and asks Breakker if he thought of all this alone.
If not, he questions if Big Poppa Pump helped him. Rollins gives Breakker the opportunity to prove he’s better at Backlash and tells Breakker he’s not even number two in his family. Rollins drops the mic and leaves. The segment ends there and we move on.
