Roman Reigns Confronted By Seth Rollins
It’s main event (segment) time!
The familiar sounds of the theme song for “The OTC” hits as we settle back inside the arena. The 1s go up in the air among the sea of thousands of fans in attendance. The WWE World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns emerges, accompanied by Jacob Fatu.
As the two head to the ring for the final segment of the show, we shift gears and settle into a quick pre-segment commercial break. The show returns and we see Reigns in the ring. He soaks in the atmosphere and then, as usual, demands that the local crowd acknowledge him.
Before they can, however, we hear the theme for Seth Rollins. “Burn it down!” As “The Visionary” and “The Revolutionary” of WWE makes his way out to confront his former fellow member of The Shield, the crowd intensity noticeably picks up.
Rollins takes his time getting to the ring. Once in the ring, he takes his time sizing up Reigns and keeping his eyes locked on him at all times. The fans begin loudly chanting. They go back to singing Rollins’ theme acapella. Rollins gets on the microphone.
He begins by saying ‘hello brother.’ He tells Reigns that their wrestling lives have been tied together for 14 years from when they were in The Shield. Rollins says Reigns is in possession of a title that belongs to him and it’s time for Rollins to collect.
Reigns says Rollins is confused as Rollins is in the back of the line and he has done nothing to earn this title shot. Rollins says when it comes to Reigns he is always at the front of the line because Reigns owes Rollins and says he owns Reigns.
Rollins says he owns Reigns in every facet and he has for 14 years. Rollins talks about pinning Reigns and taking Paul Heyman at WrestleMania 41. He talks about helping Cody Rhodes beat Reigns at WrestleMania 40. Rollins reminds Reigns that he’s always been one step ahead of Reigns.
Rollins says he’s not here to ask Reigns for anything but he’s here to give Reigns something. Rollins says Reigns has done it all and he is as great as he says but there is one thing he hasn’t done and that’s beat Rollins. He’s here to give Reigns that opportunity.
He says it may be Reigns’ last chance to close that loop. Rollins says they started this together and knocked down doors and kicked the old generations to the curb and created the best generation in the history of the WWE – they did that together.
Rollins says their careers are closer to the end than in the beginning and there is a new generation that’s looking to kick them to the curb. Rollins tells Reigns it’s his time to cement legacy and if he doesn’t accept this challenge Reigns will never escape the ghost of Seth Rollins.
Reigns says it’s been a long time since he’s heard the truth come out of Rollins’ mouth and calls him little brother and says he needs to beat Rollins and accepts the match. Reigns leaves with Fatu. That’s how this week’s show wraps up. Thanks for joining us!
