Preview & Predictions for WWE SmackDown:

On tap for tonight’s episode, the big draw is the Undisputed WWE Championship match between Cody Rhodes and Gunther with Sami Zayn as the special guest referee. With this happening here and not at Night of Champions or Saturday Night’s Main Event, and SummerSlam being the next event after those two, the standout question mark for me is whether there is a Triple Threat match in the making for any of those events. It’s hard to tell, because all are on the table. NOC feels too soon, and SNME feels like it’s a throwaway if you’ve got SS right around the corner with two nights. But who’s to say Jey Uso doesn’t win the King of the Ring tournament and can challenge Cody Rhodes, for instance? I would not be incredibly shocked if Gunther won the title, but I just don’t know. Uso is certainly the stronger pick than Je’Von Evans for this King of the Ring semifinal, at the very least.

I expect Charlotte Flair to beat Liv Morgan in the Queen of the Ring semifinals, but that is another one that I’m not 100% about. For that matter, I’m a bit 50/50 on Carmelo Hayes vs. Ricky Saints as I could see both of them justified in getting the next US title shot.

But for a more legitimate pick, I wholeheartedly anticipate MFTs taking the tag team titles away from Wepa Up. Too many issues between Damian Priest and R-Truth have been happening. The only way the MFTs lose is if there is something going on with Jacob Fatu “taking care of” Solo Sikoa or something along those lines.

Here are your results for WWE SmackDown – June 19, 2026:

  • The show opened with the Undisputed WWE Championship match. Cody Rhodes retained over Gunther by pinfall, but not without controversy, as Gunther powerbombed Zayn and Zayn then took it out on Gunther. Everyone was upset afterward, so Rhodes went to the ring and said they should restart the match. The redo ended in a disqualification with Zayn going after Gunther. Throughout the night, they kept revisiting this, with Gunther saying he wants another match at Night of Champions, Zayn saying he’s not leaving the situation any time soon, and Rhodes telling Nick Aldis to just book a Triple Threat match as he wants to beat both of them to end this.
  • Jade Cargill wants to face Tiffany Stratton for the Women’s United States Championship. Later, Stratton accepted the challenge and told Chelsea Green that she doesn’t need her help.
  • R-Truth and Damian Priest (Wepa Up) retained the WWE Tag Team Championship titles over MFT (Talla Tonga and Tama Tonga) by pinfall. Earlier, the Tongas told Solo Sikoa not to be ringside, as if he does, the Bloodline and their enemies could come out. Sikoa came out during the match anyway and ended up causing a distraction that cost them the match, so they walked away from him.
  • Ricky Saints defeated Carmelo Hayes by pinfall to earn a shot at the United States Championship against Trick Williams for Night of Champions, which he did by utilizing an exposed turnbuckle.
  • Danhausen was messing around with The Miz and Kit Wilson, who are now hooked up to his cloning machine. Angel and Berto were mad that the Knicks won, instead of Danhausen cursing them again, as they lost money betting against them. Matt Cardona came over to stand up for Danhausen and ended up getting slightly shocked, saying his old Zack Ryder catch phrases.
  • R-Truth and Finn Balor were talking backstage when Damian Priest came over and said he wasn’t going to join R-Truth in any celebration that would include Balor, as he doesn’t go places with people he doesn’t trust.
  • Jey Uso defeated Je’Von Evans by pinfall to advance to the finals of the King of the Ring tournament.
  • Liv Morgan defeated Charlotte Flair to advance to the finals of the Queen of the Ring tournament with Flair going into the match handicapped after being attacked by Jade Cargill, B-Fab, and Michin backstage, but Flair refused to forfeit the match.
