WWE SMACKDOWN Results: May 8, 2026

What happened on this week’s episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown? Check out the results from the May 8th episode including the funeral of the gingerbread man, Tiffany Stratton vs. Kiana James and more.

Tonight’s episode of WWE SmackDown (May 8, 2026) emanates out of the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida and will air at 8 p.m. ET on the USA Network.

This post here will be updated frequently throughout the night to reflect live coverage of Friday Night SmackDown, including all the match results, rundowns of the promos, and any other interesting or noteworthy things that take place. Keep refreshing for updates to find out all the winners and more!

Preview & Predictions for WWE SmackDown:

On tap for tonight’s episode, there will be a funeral for The Gingerbread Man, “killed off” by Sami Zayn on last week’s episode after he low-blowed the cookie and ripped off his appendages. This will be the go-home show leading into WWE Backlash, where Trick Williams will defend the Men’s United States Championship against Zayn, so whatever happens here will influence that.

The Women’s United States Championship will also be up for grabs this week as Tiffany Stratton puts her belt up for grabs against Kiana James—her preferred opponent, which didn’t sit well with Giulia. Stratton said she wants to see what James can do when she’s not being held back. I’d imagine Stratton is retaining the title.

Fatal Influence will be in a six-woman tag team match against Alexa Bliss, Charlotte Flair, and Rhea Ripley, as The Queen and The Eradicator have put aside their differences to deal with a common enemy. My money is on Fatal Influence getting the win to help set Jacy Jayne up for a future shot at the WWE Women’s Championship.

Gunther will also be there in some fashion to talk about what he did last week when he attacked Cody Rhodes from behind. Will The Ring General be set up for a match against The American Nightmare at an upcoming show like Saturday Night’s Main Event or Clash in Italy, or will WWE dawdle some more on making any of that official until at least after Backlash so fans don’t think it’s coming for that show?

Here are your results for WWE SmackDown – May 8, 2026:

  • Jacob Fatu started the show with a promo where he spoke about how he’s going to beat Roman Reigns, while The Usos tried to tell him he’s going to lose. After the commercial break, Royce Keys hyped up Fatu and was approached by Solo Sikoa, who wants an answer soon about whether or not Keys is going to join the MFTs.
  • Tiffany Stratton retained the WWE Women’s United States Championship by defeating Kiana James by pinfall.
  • Talla Tonga defeated Damian Priest by pinfall. Royce Keys came out to intimidate the MFTs into not continuing to attack Priest and R-Truth after the match.
  • Kit Wilson and The Miz told Danhausen he has no friends, so he won’t have any tag team partner, with Wilson suggesting the only person toxic enough to be his partner is Danhausen himself—something Danhausen thought was a great idea.
  • Paul Heyman’s favor for Gunther was to talk to Nick Aldis and set it up so The Ring General is now on the SmackDown roster and will get a title shot against Cody Rhodes at Clash in Italy. After Rhodes fought Gunther off after being jumped from behind, he reiterated that he’s easy to find and hard to beat.
  • Ricky Saints defeated Matt Cardona by pinfall.
  • Brie Bella and Paige cut a promo in the ring about how they’re the best they’ve ever been right now, welcoming Roxanne Perez and Raquel Rodriguez and any other teams to step up to them. Fatal Influence came out to say they’re going to take the tag team titles from them. Nia Jax and Lash Legend told Fatal Influence to get to the back of the line before beating down Paige and Brie.
  • Six-Woman Tag Team Match: Fatal Influence (Jacy Jayne, Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid) defeated Rhea Ripley, Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair by pinfall. Jade Cargill interfered to pull Ripley off the apron. Post-match, Michin and B-Fab also went after Flair and Bliss. The segment ended with Cargill, Michin and B-Fab standing over the three babyfaces.
  • The Usos told Royce Keys to stay in his lane or he might catch the eyes of the Tribal Chief.
  • Royce Keys defeated Tama Tonga by pinfall.
  • Danhausen tried to clone himself, but the machine broke.
  • After Shinsuke Nakamura told Tama Tonga that he’s disappointed he hasn’t left the MFTs, Talla Tonga came over to say if Nakamura doesn’t leave his brother alone, there will be trouble.
  • Throughout the show, there were multiple segments with people grieving over the Gingerbread Man, culminating with an in-ring funeral that resulted in Lil Yachty in the costume attacking Sami Zayn with a candy cane to end the show.
