WWE Superfan Vladimir Hospitalized After Scary Fall

Vladimir Abouzeide — widely recognized as WWE’s most famous superfan — is currently hospitalized after suffering a frightening fall in New York City.

According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, Vladimir’s sister gave permission for details regarding his condition to be shared publicly so fans could keep him in their thoughts and prayers during recovery. Johnson reported that Vladimir, who has been battling Parkinson’s disease for several years, suffered a serious fall while walking with his sister.

“This past week, Vlad was walking with his sister when he suddenly fell, striking his head on the concrete.”

The situation became especially concerning because doctors feared possible bleeding on the brain following the impact. Thankfully, it’s believed he’s out of imminent danger.

“He suffered a major concussion and there was concern about bleeding on the brain, but we are told that he is believed to be out of imminent danger when it came to the bleeding.”

While the immediate danger has lessened, Vladimir is still expected to remain hospitalized for an extended period. Johnson also noted that balance issues connected to Parkinson’s disease played a role in the accident.

“Vlad will, however, remain hospitalized in NYC for some time to come. There is no timetable for his release as I write this.”

Vladimir became one of the most recognizable wrestling fans in history after regularly appearing at major WWE events throughout the 1980s and 1990s. His passionate support for the company eventually turned him into an iconic figure among longtime wrestling fans.

WWE finally released the long-awaited documentary Superfan: The Story of Vladimir on Peacock back in 2023 after the project had previously been shelved despite being completed years ago. The documentary explored Vladimir’s journey from immigrating to Manhattan from Haiti as a child to becoming arguably the most recognizable fan in WWE history.

Bottom line: Vladimir Abouzeide is reportedly recovering in a New York hospital after suffering a serious fall connected to ongoing Parkinson’s-related balance issues, though he is believed to be out of immediate danger.
