WWE’s Current Stance on Possibly Bringing Back Kairi Sane After Release

Kairi Sane was released by WWE last week, but a new report makes it clear the company has no intention of bringing her back.

After fans pushed heavily for her return and rumors started circulating about a possible reversal similar to R-Truth’s situation, WrestleVotes addressed the speculation during a Q&A session on April 27, 2026, and shut it down completely.

When asked directly if WWE could bring Sane back due to the online reaction, WrestleVotes revealed why that scenario isn’t expected to happen, pointing to how the company handled R-Truth’s situation last year.

“The big part here is—could we see a reversal much like R-Truth? No. They didn’t want to bring Truth back—they caved in, broke down, and said, ‘Come on back.’ You can’t do that again within a calendar year, because every time the critics or voices get too loud, people are going to expect that talent to get brought back.”

He then addressed the growing #WeWantKairi movement directly, suggesting WWE’s strategy is to simply wait out the noise rather than respond to it.

“The ‘#WeWantKross’—that died. This, ‘#WeWantKairi’—they’re hoping it dies, and that’s that.”

This lines up with earlier reports confirming that Sane has already left the United States and returned to Japan, making any immediate comeback impossible despite fan demand. It also follows reports from Fightful Select noting there was significant shock and frustration internally when she was released mid-storyline involving Asuka and IYO SKY.

But despite the backlash from both fans and within the locker room, it’s clear that WWE isn’t planning to reverse course; at least not anytime soon. WWE brought R-Truth back once after the noise got loud, but they’re not about to make that a habit, and Kairi Sane may be the example of that.

Do you think WWE should reconsider and bring Kairi Sane back, or is holding firm the right call here? Let us know your thoughts and feedback.
