DAY 1
Winning the toss skipper, Will Bennison, elected to bowl first and this proved to be a shrewd move as Brad Sylvester had Ali caught behind by Harry Duke in the first over. Debutant, Isaac Bepey then had Shaikh lbw and our visitors were 17-2.
Jani and Smith added 41 in 65 balls before the latter was caught behind for 20 to give Charlie Taylor a wicket in his first over. Rizwan Ishfaq bowled Jani for 41 made from 58 balls and Warwickshire were 70-4. Nahal was the victim of a mistake with Gerkis and was run out for 16 and at lunch Warwickshire were 96-5.
After lunch Dandy and Gerkis extended their partnership, passing 50 from 64 balls and a century from 145 balls. The latter had reached a personal half century when he was bowled by Jafer Chohan for 55 from 91 and 207-5 became 235 all out. Dandy made 74 from 94 as Chohan and Ishfaq finished with 3 wickets each.
Wills Bennison and Luxton opened for Yorkshire and had added 42 from 45 balls before the former was caught behind for 18 from 23 balls. Harry Duke joined Luxton and they added 71 in 80 balls before Duke fell in the same manner and play was then called off for the day due to bad light.
Yorkshire closed on 113-2, Luxton unbeaten on 65 from 62 balls with 10 fours and 2 sixes.
