Zwift acquires ROUVY – Canadian Cycling Magazine

Well, indoor cycling fans did not have this on their 2026 Bingo card.

Zwift has acquired ROUVY, bringing together two of the biggest names in indoor cycling, though both platforms will continue to run separately.

“This is a major moment for both Zwift and ROUVY,” Zwift co-founder and CEO Eric Min said. “We have a huge amount of respect for what ROUVY has achieved. ROUVY’s differentiated experience is proof we can be stronger together.”

What does the deal mean?

The acquisition essentially connects Zwift’s gamified virtual racing platform with ROUVY’s real-route video-based training app. Both companies said the aim is to grow the indoor cycling market rather than merge their products into one system.

In recent years, the growth of indoor cycling has been massive. It is in part due to more affordable smart trainers, or perhaps even riders being worry about riding on real roads, given the plethora of collisions by motorists. But it also means competitive cyclists can get quality rides in all year-round. Or before work, during their lunch hour–you know the drill.

As far as how this will all work out, it sounds like ROUVY will continue to be ROUVY. (For now.)
ROUVY CEO and founder Petr Samek said the brand will stay the same despite the change in ownership. “ROUVY will continue to be the ROUVY you all know and love, with the same team and the same focus on helping riders achieve their cycling goals,” he said.

Zwift hardware such as Zwift Ready trainers will also become compatible with ROUVY, with further integration planned over time. Both platforms will maintain separate roadmaps and subscription models.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
