The provisional entry list for the 2026 24 Hours of Le Mans has been released, confirming a full 62 car grid for this year’s edition of endurance racing’s biggest event. With Hypercar, LMP2 and LMGT3 all represented in force, Circuit de la Sarthe is set for another intense week of racing as the FIA World Endurance Championship heads towards its most important round of the season.
LMP2 Returns to the Le Mans Grid
One of the key features of the race is the return of the LMP2 category to the FIA WEC paddock for Le Mans. While the class no longer competes full time in the championship, the 24 Hours of Le Mans continues to welcome a large LMP2 field, bringing another level of competition and complexity to the race.
A total of 19 LMP2 entries are confirmed, featuring many of the leading names from the European Le Mans Series and international endurance racing. Teams including United Autosports, Inter Europol Competition, IDEC Sport, Nielsen Racing, AO by TF and Algarve Pro Racing all return with strong line-ups.
The category has always played an important role at Le Mans. The cars may sit below Hypercar in outright pace, but the racing is often some of the closest on the circuit. Over 24 hours, LMP2 also becomes a major factor in traffic management, especially during the night when faster Hypercars work through the field while battling for position themselves.
Manufacturers Ready for the Fight at the Front
Hypercar once again provides one of the strongest manufacturer line-ups seen in modern endurance racing. Ferrari AF Corse returns with its pair of factory 499Ps alongside the AF Corse customer entry, while Toyota continues its push for another Le Mans victory with two GR010 Hybrids.
Cadillac expands its presence further this year, combining the Hertz Team JOTA entries with an additional Cadillac WTR car driven by Ricky Taylor, Jordan Taylor and Filipe Albuquerque. BMW, Alpine, Peugeot and Aston Martin also arrive with full factory efforts, while Genesis Magma Racing continues to build attention with two Hypercar entries featuring experienced names including André Lotterer, Luis Felipe Derani and Mathieu Jaminet.
The depth across the Hypercar field means there are very few weak entries anywhere on the grid. Reliability, strategy and traffic management are likely to play just as big a role as outright pace once the race gets underway.
Strong LMGT3 Field Completes the Grid
The LMGT3 category also brings a huge variety of manufacturers and drivers to this year’s race, with 25 cars confirmed across the class. Ferrari, Porsche, Corvette, McLaren, Aston Martin, Mercedes-AMG, Lexus, BMW and Ford are all represented, creating a packed GT field around the full Circuit de la Sarthe.
The category combines experienced endurance racers with newer talent, alongside several bronze-rated drivers who remain central to GT racing at Le Mans. With such a varied field, strategy and consistency often become more important than outright speed, particularly once the race moves into darkness and conditions begin to change.
Le Mans always feels different once the full grid is released. The scale of the event becomes clearer. With 62 cars spread across three classes, traffic never stops, the pressure never drops, and every lap brings another decision that could define the outcome of the race.
The 2026 24 Hours of Le Mans is already shaping up to be another major chapter in endurance racing, with the return of LMP2, a stacked Hypercar field, and one of the strongest GT grids in recent years, you can find more Le Mans related news HERE.
