Montreal, QC — Alex Tagliani will return as a full-season championship contender in the NASCAR Canada Series, competing on ovals in the No. 3 car for Ed Hakonson Racing (EHR).
Tagliani already signed with Theetge Motorsports to compete on road/street courses, marking a unique and ambitious dual-program effort in 2026. He is expected to be the only driver in the series competing full-time while contributing to the Owners’ Championship with two different teams over the course of the season.
“This is a big opportunity and I’m super excited to work with EHR on the oval program,” said Tagliani. “A massive thank you to Olymel, St-Hubert, and Ureco Flooring for their support in making this possible. I’m also very grateful to EHR for putting together a strong program that allows me to compete for a full championship.”
Tagliani brings extensive oval experience to the team and is no stranger to success. He notably dominated at Sunset Speedway with back-to-back victories in 2015-16, including a performance where he lapped the entire field.
“I’m looking forward to working with Jason and the No. 3 team to get back to business on the ovals,” added Tagliani.
From the team’s perspective, EHR is equally enthusiastic about the partnership.
“We’re excited to work with Tag and see how we can attack the Owners’ Championship,” said the team. “Having two capable drivers in the program is a big advantage for EHR.”
With proven performance, strong backing, and a dual-team championship strategy, the Tagliani–EHR combination is set to be a major force in the 2026 NASCAR Canada Series oval championship battle.
