Dark Side of the Ring is officially coming back — and now fans finally know when the new season premieres and what major stories are being covered first.
After months of uncertainty surrounding the future of the hit wrestling docuseries, we had previously confirmed that the show had been renewed for Season 7 and was already back in production, with filming taking place in Louisville, Kentucky several weeks ago. Now, a new report from Variety on May 7, 2026 has revealed exactly when the new season will premiere — along with several of the stories set to be covered.
According to Variety, Dark Side of the Ring Season 7 will officially premiere on July 7 at 9 p.m. ET on Vice TV with two back-to-back episodes. After that, new episodes will air weekly.
The biggest story attached to the new season is a three-part deep dive into TNA Wrestling and company co-founder Jeff Jarrett. Vice TV president Pete Gaffney addressed the return of the series and explained why the franchise continues to resonate with audiences.
“‘Dark Side of the Ring’ is one of our strongest franchises that speaks to our audience with its gritty exposition of the real emotional and physical costs behind professional wrestling. Wrestling is one of America’s most influential pop culture phenomenons, and this series further explores the blurred lines between wrestling’s spectacle and reality, ultimately uncovering the truths behind the stories fans thought they knew.”
Season 7 will also feature episodes centered around wrestling names and moments that left lasting marks on the industry, including Paul Orndorff, Ray “The Big Boss Man” Traylor, Missy Hyatt, Zach Gowen, and The Renegade. One episode will also revisit the infamous Necro Butcher vs. Samoa Joe match.
Dark Side of the Ring co-creators Evan Husney and Jason Eisener also commented on the upcoming season, pointing directly to the TNA story as one of the most ambitious projects the show has tackled so far.
“Each season, we try to challenge ourselves to go deeper, and season seven is our most ambitious yet. That’s especially true with our three-part exploration of TNA Wrestling, where Jeff Jarrett’s journey of redemption and resilience gives us a unique lens into the highs, struggles, and lasting impact of the foundational years of the company. It’s a perfect example of how compelling and ultimately human these stories really are.”
This officially puts an end to speculation about the future of the series following Season 6. Earlier reports stated there had been “no official announcement” regarding another season, despite interviews already being filmed. Now, those interviews are clearly being turned into new episodes as Vice TV moves forward with another batch of wrestling stories.
Since debuting in 2019, Dark Side of the Ring has built a reputation for diving into some of wrestling’s most controversial and emotional moments, including stories involving Eddie Gilbert, Tony Atlas, Mick Foley’s Hell in a Cell match with The Undertaker, and “Superstar” Billy Graham. With the Season 7 premiere date now locked in, fans officially know when the next chapter begins.
