Mick Foley’s AEW Status Confirmed After Recent Backstage Rumors

Mick Foley is heading into AEW just days after talk surfaced that the company was interested in working with the WWE Hall of Famer.

Last week, reports claimed AEW had interest in using Foley in some capacity, although details were unclear regarding whether it would be a one-time appearance or something more involved. Now, Foley is set to appear during AEW’s Double or Nothing weekend programming.

Tony Khan announced that Foley will join Renee Paquette as a co-host for the Double or Nothing Buy In special before also appearing during Wednesday Night Dynamite.

“Your new co-hosts are @ReneePaquette & Mick Foley! Foley’s coming back to TBS, where he ran wild as Cactus Jack!”

The message also promoted Foley’s first AEW appearance while hyping both Double or Nothing and Dynamite.

“Don’t miss his first night in AEW on Sunday + see you for Wednesday Night #AEWDynamite TONIGHT!”

The appearance marks a major moment considering Foley spent years as one of WWE’s most recognizable legends through characters like Mankind, Dude Love, and Cactus Jack during the Attitude Era.

Foley made headlines after publicly stating he no longer wanted to appear on WWE television because of the company’s ties to Donald Trump’s administration. That immediately fueled speculation about whether AEW could eventually become involved.

Do you think Mick Foley should become a regular part of AEW programming, or should his appearances stay limited to special occasions? Let us know your thoughts and feedback in the comments below.
