Mohamed Salah will hope to add his combined tally of 279 goals and assists for Liverpool when he makes his final appearance for the club against Brentford on Sunday.

The Egypt international joined Liverpool nine years ago and has since enjoyed a hugely successful spell on Merseyside, scoring 257 goals and providing 122 assists in 441 matches across all competitions.

Salah had been linked with a move away from Anfield a couple of years ago but signed a new deal in April last year.

Despite that, it was announced earlier this year that the forward will leave the Reds at the end of the current campaign.

It is currently unclear where Salah will end up next term, but it is now emerging that two huge Italian clubs are hoping to sign the player.

As per Football Insider, both AC Milan and Roma are preparing moves to sign Salah during the upcoming summer transfer window.

Salah joined Liverpool from Roma in 2017, having played more than 80 times during his time in the Italian capital.

He had previously also enjoyed a successful spell with fellow Serie A side Fiorentina, and the report suggests that Italian clubs are now keen to lure him back.

In total the attacker has made 81 appearances in the Italian top flight, scoring 35 goals and registering 22 assists.

The Egyptian was previously linked heavily with a move to the Saudi Pro League, with Al Ittihad among the clubs interested in signing the forward.

It is suggested that a return to Serie A could be increasingly likely, despite the star being heavily linked with a move to the Middle East previously.

This season, Salah has scored 12 goals in 40 matches for Liverpool, as well as providing nine assists.
