75TH CAP FOR STEVE SMALL

75TH CAP FOR STEVE SMALL

One of Great Britain’s Equipment Managers, Steve Small, received his 75th cap ahead of tonight’s game with Finland in the 2026 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship at the Swiss Life Arena in Zurich.

He first started working for the team in 2014 at the World Championship Division I Group B in Lithuania and has become a popular member of the team’s off-ice staff.

Smallsey or Smally – as he’s known in the locker room – is working his final World Championship tournament, although he intends to still be part of the programme at other tournaments.

He was presented with his cap by Ice Hockey UK General Secretary Andy French in the locker room following a speech by his good friend – and Great Britain General Manager – Andy Buxton.

Congratulations Steve and thank you for everything you have done for the Great Britain programme.
