3 Predictions for Pokemon Champions Regulation M-B | Nerfs Incoming?!

Pokemon Champions is heading into Regulation Set M-B, and I think there are a few things that are going to change in the game that could dramatically shift not only the meta but how the game is played.

With Pokemon Champions Regulation M-B now here, players can keep up with the latest updates on our
Pokemon Champions hub.

Pokemon Champions Regulation M-B Predictions

In case you did not know, Regulation Set M-B, which will feature two seasons, Seasons 3 and 4 of Pokemon Champions, is coming out June 16 or June 17, depending on where you live.

There are some anticipated changes that players are really hoping are going to get added to Pokemon Champions. There are a lot of people who have been going back and forth on whether this will be the big set of changes that everyone hoped to see in Season 2 or if it will just be a couple of small changes.

They have already announced Mega Raichu X and Mega Raichu Y being added to the game, but what else could they possibly add? Here are a few predictions for Pokemon Champions Regulation M-B.

Pokemon Champions Set M-B Could Change EVERYTHING | 3 BIG Predictions!

New Pokemon, Items and Battle Mechanic Changes

The most obvious place to start is with all of the different Pokemon, item and potential battle mechanic changes.

The reason why I believe these are happening is because on the road map, they showed Regulation Set M-A and now Regulation Set M-B. Those are completely cut off from each other. They are not part of the same seasons. You had Season M-1 and Season M-2, and now the game is heading into Season M-3 and Season M-4.

I am anticipating that this means there will be new Pokemon added. We now know that is probably what is going to happen, and there could be multiple seasons under each regulation. Once the new regulations change, there will likely be changes to the game.

My first prediction is that we are going to get a bunch of new Pokemon. I would guess maybe somewhere between 20 and 30 new Pokemon. I think there could be some of the terrain setters, some of the big ones like we have seen with Revavroom, and I could also see Pokemon like Grimmsnarl getting added into the game.

I also believe most, if not all, of the other new Megas from Pokemon Legends Z-A Mega Dimension get added into Pokemon Champions at the same time.

As more builds are tested in the new regulation, we will continue updating our

section with competitive guides.

New Items Could Be Added

I also think that there will be new items. I do not know how many, but I could see something like Life Orb getting added. Maybe Assault Vest or those types of items could also be added to the game.

They are not going to want to do all of them at the same time. They are likely going to release them with different regulations. I believe that is going to be the way they do things now. Each new regulation will add some new parts to the game, and maybe they will take some parts out as well.

I am hoping they will not take too much out since this is still going to be a Mega regulation. That is why they have the big M on it.

Buffs and Nerfs Could Change the Meta

My final prediction within this area is that we will get some nerfs and buffs.

I would not be surprised to see nerfs to Pokemon like Sneasler, maybe even Aerodactyl, Mega Floette or Garchomp. Garchomp could be getting Mega Garchomp Z in this new regulation, but they made some of these changes going into Pokemon Champions, and I would not be surprised to see them make more of these changes in the new regulation as well.

This would be a really good way to keep the meta healthy without only having to change which Pokemon are in the game and which ones are not.

Maybe they take away a certain move or change the way some stats work. With Pokemon Champions especially, this game is a standalone. Whatever stat changes they make here are not going to affect any of the other games, so it does not really matter. They can work on their own internal competitive meta.

That is what this game specifically affords them, and I really hope they take advantage of it.

More Box Slots Could Be Coming

My next prediction is that they are going to continue opening up box slots. This is a huge one that I think a lot of people have been waiting on.

I know that you can get more by playing more or by paying more. I think maybe this was just something they wanted to do initially, but for somebody like me, I have already got my 100 slots filled. I am constantly hoping and looking for new combinations or even new shiny Pokemon.

With all of the new Pokemon that they are adding, I believe they understand that players are going to need more box slots. While they may want to put players in this conundrum of which Pokemon to keep and which ones to get rid of, I really believe box slots are going to be something they consistently update and open up as they add more Pokemon to the game.

I have two or three variations of Sinistcha because I have the normal one, the shiny one and the Masterpiece form in Pokemon Champions. I am holding on to that Masterpiece form because I am hoping that eventually I will be able to transport it over to Pokemon Home whenever they decide to allow that.

I do not know how much they will increase box slots by. I could see them going up by maybe 20. I believe the base level is 30, so I could see them increasing it by 20 and giving players 50 slots naturally. For people who are already paying for extra box slots, like me, an extra 20 would not be a surprise whatsoever.

I think that is going to be one of the biggest additions to the game.

A New Stadium and More Cosmetics

The last big prediction is that they are going to add at least one new stadium. I could see it potentially being two, or even something different than what we already have.

Maybe it will be Alolan themed, or maybe they will do something like a Kanto Gym Leaders type stadium. It could just be something new for people to add.

I do not think it is going to be free, to be fair. I am sure it will be something that players either have to earn or pay for, but I do believe this is going to be the next big thing.

They are going to add some new cosmetics and a new stadium into the game with this new regulation. It has clearly been something that fans have been asking for for a while, and if I remember correctly, they have said they were open to it or already planning on doing it.

This would be a really good time to do it with the new mobile launch.

The Mobile Launch Could Bring in More Players

With the new mobile launch, there should be a pretty big influx of new players to the game. People who maybe do not have a Nintendo Switch or Nintendo Switch 2 have been unable to play the game so far.

I know I have a few friends who are Xbox fans, but they really like the idea of just doing competitive Pokemon. The idea that Pokemon Champions is going to come to their phones could intrigue them and at least entice them a little bit to play the game.

What better way to do that than with a new stadium skin or new cosmetics, maybe on the battle pass or whatever it is going to be? Games really like to do that, especially when they are just starting off.

There have been questions about how many players are actually playing Pokemon Champions right now. I do not know the current number, but I do believe mobile is going to make it much more accessible. The player count will probably skyrocket, especially in Asia, where mobile gaming is extremely popular and a lot more accessible.

That is why games like Mobile Legends and others do really well there. It was only a matter of time before those mobile players were added to the player pool for Pokemon Champions.

That is why I really believe major new cosmetics and a new stadium are some of the last big things that could be added to Pokemon Champions Regulation M-B.

Regulation M-B Could Be a Big Step Forward

I am really excited for something new to be added to the game. I am hoping we get nerfs and buffs, because this would be a really good way to keep the meta healthy.

The Pokemon Champions meta does not feel totally figured out yet. There have already been interesting changes in draft leagues and competitive tournaments. We still see some of the same Pokemon, but players are adapting to those and making new changes.

Recently, Toxapex started showing up in the meta, which is something I have been pushing for since the very beginning.

There are a lot of different opportunities for Pokemon Champions with this new regulation. I am looking forward to Regulation M-B, and I am very hopeful that these will be the kinds of changes we see.
