- ATS’s V1.60 update adds improved lighting and materials system
- New job details and game radio widgets also implemented
American Truck Simulator’s V1.60 update is available now, and it adds a series of minor improvements to SCS Software’s hit title.
Although it lacks new content, V1.60 does implement new materials and light systems to improve the game’s overall look, while a series of new paint jobs, a job details widget and a new Game Radio. More details are below.
Improved materials and light systems
A new and improved materials system for V1.60 focuses on vehicle interiors, enhancing the appearance of lighting and the overall visual quality of leather, cloth, plastic, and metal.
Inspired by the larger variety of materials found in the game’s upcoming Road Trip mode, which focuses on cars and pickup trucks, the new system utilises dynamic cube maps to offer more natural lighting.
The new materials system initially appears on the Mack Anthem and the Western Star 49X trucks, but will be added to more models in the future.

The job details widget has been updated to make job information easier to read, and it can be accessed via the Widget Options menu by pressing F6.
The game’s fatigue system is now also split into Rest State and Mandatory Break factors. Driving for too long depletes the rest state bar, while driving for 14 hours straight requires a mandatory 10-hour break.
Game Radio
There are now five radio stations to choose from in-game: Rust FM, Escape, PUMP IT!, Pop Gear and Roadio. Each offers a different aural experience, with Escape offering the only streamer-friendly soundscape for now.

Paint Jobs
SCS has added free Kenworth TourAmerica Paint Jobs to the game for V1.60, offering an homage to Kenworth’s TourAmerica T600 livery from the ‘90s. The new designs are available to all players for free.
Players can also choose from a greater variety of company-themed paint jobs, which SCS says are ‘inspired by the selectable company identities available when creating a driver profile’. These apply to both trailers and tractor units, offering an extra layer of professionalism to in-game businesses.
