By Robert Brizel, Head Real Combat Media Boxing Correspondent
Riyadh, Saudi Arabia (June 23rd, 2026)– Zuffa Boxing co-founder Turki Alalshikh, also chairman of Saudi Arabia’s entertainment authority, age 44, has announced he has a brain tumor near the pituitary gland, diagnosed in 2025, on top of several cancer diagnoses ongoing since 2015. Only in the last several years post-Pandemic, Alalshikh, based out of Saudi Arabia, has surpassed Al Haymon, Bob Arum, Don King, Oscar De la Hoya, Eddie Hearn, and many others to become the most recognizable promoter and positive influence on the face of professional boxing today.
Tyson Fury, Canelo Alvarez, Anthony Joshua, Oleksandr Usyk, Terence Crawford, and Naoya Inoue are but a few of the mega names Alalshikh has promoted, with Anthony Joshua versus Tyson Fury on the near horizon.
Alalshikh is attempting to hold a mega summit to discuss Fury versus Joshua, the role of the DAZN network, and to create a clearer vision for the promotion of the bout with the top promoters involved with the planning of the Fury versus Joshua bout card.
In an official statement, Alalshikh put his thoughts for the future of boxing in high gear, gauging due to his health concerns, his time left to make his impact in the world of boxing and entertainment may be limited.
“I’ll do my best to conduct a meeting soon between my brothers Dana White, his partner at Zuffa Boxing, Nick Khan, Frank Warren, Eddie Hearn, and my partners and friends at DAZN to make peace and revolution for boxing. I hope I succeed, and boxing fans will see white smoke rise from the chimney. I want to do it before losing my memory. I’m afraid that in 2028 and 2029, in the near future, due to my declining health, I’ll forget my name and my dream, vision, and purpose to promote the sport of professional boxing.”
