BOXXER announce major new chapter

BOXXER have been involved in significant fights during their time in boxing. They have also received their share of criticism. Ben Shalom, the promotional companies founder, has been involved in plenty of spats with rival promoters, including Eddie Hearn of Matchroom Boxing. It has now been revealed that they have secured a major new partnership with DAZN.

BOXXER reveal DAZN deal

Over the last 24 hours, a major story involving the future of BOXXER was speculated, with the British promotional outfit revealing that they have struck a deal with DAZN.

Via their website, the deal was confirmed:

“DAZN, the global home of boxing, has today confirmed a deal with UK boxing promoter BOXXER, which will see the promotion deliver major fight nights on the platform in the coming months, including a premium Pay-Per-View event scheduled for later this year.”

“The first event will be the highly anticipated rematch between Troy Williamson and Callum Simpson on Saturday, August 8 at the First Direct Bank Arena in Leeds. The bout follows their first meeting in December, which saw Troy Williamson flooring Simpson four times in the tenth round before forcing a stoppage to secure a TKO victory, winning the British, Commonwealth and European super-middleweight titles in the process.”

Multi fight deal announced

It remains to be seen how this new partnership affects their deal with the BBC. Despite this uncertainty, it appears to be a great move by Shalom that will strengthen his company’s long-term future.

They announced the news across the various social media platforms, revealing it was a “multi-fight partnership.”

This development should enable Shalom to diversify his stable of fighters, attracting more international boxers. The first fight of this new agreement will see Williamson-Simpson II, with the British and Commonwealth super middleweight titles on the line.
