CAPS: JACKSON 75, HILL 50 AND BROWN DEBUT

There were three special cap presentations ahead of Great Britain’s game with Spain in the Women’s World Championship Division I Group B on Monday evening.

On the ice, GB made it two wins from two with a 3-2 victory over the hosts with Katie Marsden and Jodie Alderson-Smith on target, while there was a first senior goal for Lilly Endicott.

Netminder Nicole Jackson became the first women’s player to reach the landmark achievement of 75 caps.

The 33-year-old made her debut for GB in the 2011 World Championship in Caen, France and has gone on to win a gold medal, four silvers and three bronze.

Beth Hill became the 13th player to reach the 50-cap milestone after making her debut in the 2016 World Championship in Bled, Slovenia where GB won the bronze medal.

She has since won a gold medal, two silvers and two more bronze across eight previous World Championship tournaments.

Netminder Evelyn Brown was back-up to Jackson last night and became the 155th player to ice for Great Britain.

All three were presented with their caps by Ice Hockey UK interim CEO Tim Bratton in a special ceremony in the locker room ahead of last night’s game.
