Carl Froch makes BRUTAL Ryan Garcia vs Conor Benn prediction

Carl Froch has poured cold water on Conor Benn’s chances of beating Ryan Garcia.

WBC welterweight world champion, Garcia claimed earlier this week he will fight Benn in August in Las Vegas.

‘The Destroyer’ secured a dominant unanimous decision victory over Regis Prograis on Saturday at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in their 150 pound catchweight showdown.

Former world champion, Froch admits he wasn’t impressed by the 29-year-old’s display and believes Garcia, who won the title with a unanimous decision win over Mario Barrios in February, would stop the Brit in the early rounds should their proposed clash materialise.

“That performance against Regis Prograis was f***ing awful,” the 48-year-old said on his YouTube channel Froch On Fighting.

“This is a guy that’s now talking and shouting out Ryan Garcia.

“On that performance, Ryan Garcia absolutely splatters him within three rounds as far as I’m concerned.

“Conor Benn was struggling to get his distance, his range.

“He was leaping in with his chin in the air.

“He was walking into shots.

“He’s on about dropping down to 147 [pounds], he’s got no punching power.

“He’s not punching hard. What’s happened to him?

“Why doesn’t he punch anymore? Why is he not ferocious?”

It was Benn’s first bout since his rematch with Chris Eubank Jr, who watched on from ringside.

Both fights with Eubank Jr were contested at 160 pounds, although ‘The Destroyer’ remains intent on fighting at welterweight.

His meeting with Prograis was his first since leaving Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom for Dana White’s Zuffa Boxing on a one-fight deal worth reportedly $15m.

The Matchroom Chairman, who revealed he won’t look to resign his old charge, believes his future should lie away from the welterweight division.

“I actually like Conor up the weights a little bit,” the 46-year-old told Pro Boxing Fans.

“He didn’t look like he had any power and I think he looked much stronger and full of a lot more energy up at 160.”
