Starting Lineups
Starting Pitchers
Andrew Abbott
After a poor April, Abbott has turned things around since and has looked much closer to the version of himself that was an All-Star in 2025. His ERA is down to 3.83 – more than two runs lower than it was when April came to an end. In each of his last two starts he’s allowed one run in 5.0 innings.
The splits this season against Abbott can be a bit misleading. Lefties are hitting for a higher average than righties, but aren’t walking and aren’t hitting for power. But they have been so much worse than that over the last two months, but in the first five weeks of the season they hit quite well against him (.481/.500/.704).

Paul Skenes
One of the best pitchers in baseball, Skenes is currently having his worst season of his career. That really tells you a lot given that his ERA is 2.86 this season and he has 18 walks with 107 strikeouts. He’s struggled in three outings this season, accounting for 14 earned runs in just 10.2 innings over those three games. In June he’s given up seven earned runs in 22.2 innings (2.78 ERA).
Neither lefties or righties are performing well against Skenes this season but left-handed hitters have done better. They hit for a higher average, are walking more, making more contact, and hitting for more power.

Tony Santillan to the 15-day injured list
Cincinnati placed Santillan on the injured list this afternoon with an oblique strain. Zach McCambley is coming up from Triple-A to take his spot in the bullpen. You can read a bit more about both from our piece earlier today when the moves were announced.
