David Benavidez put in a career-defining performance in Las Vegas as he stopped ‘Zurdo’ Ramirez.
Benavidez fought ‘Zurdo’ at the cruiserweight limit at the T-Mobile Arena.
From the first round, it was clear ‘The Mexican Monster’ was operating on a different level to his man.
The majority of the fight was non-stop action, with neither man taking a backward step, instead choosing to fight in the pocket.
Benavidez had Ramirez hurt after a barrage to close out the second round.

That set the pace for how the remaining rounds would play out. Benavidez hurt ‘Zurdo’ once again in the third, who did reply well, but what was evident is the defending champion couldn’t take many more barrages like he had at the start of the fight.
In round four, Ramirez was forced to take a knee for the first time in 15 years, with Benavidez ending the round in style.
It would be the sixth round where the fight would end, with Benavidez launching an insane combination that left Ramirez on the floor holding his eye. The champion couldn’t make the count.
After his win, Benavidez called out Canelo Alvarez.

Armando Resendiz vs Jaime Munguia

All three judges scored the contest in favour of Munguia in a wide unanimous decision, with the cards reading: 117-111, 119-109, 120-108.
