The tournament is on the WTA 500 calendar but often features a myriad of top names including Iga Swiatek, Aryna Sabalenka, Coco Gauff and Elena Rybakina this year. Jelena Ostapenko though is the defending champion.

Ostapenko won the Porsche last year and famously continued her hoodoo over Iga Swiatek as well as beating Sabalenka 6-4, 6-1. She won the prize money and Porsche Macan Turbo in Papaya Metallic. That is also one of the main caveats to this event is that the winner drives away with a Porsche too.

Elena Rybakina infamously won it two years ago, but couldn’t drive; she soon learned how to drive in the off-season to drive it in Dubai, where she is based. But Swiatek, who since became a Porsche ambassador, has also won the title before, and it is usually a mix of top names, home hopes, and ambassadors in the field, with Eva Lys, for instance and Emma Raducanu in the past getting invites based on sponsorships. It is the week after Linz, which starts the clay court indoor season in Europe.

Predictions Stuttgart Open

Samuel Gill, Head Editor for TennisUpToDate.com is picking known entities for his picks.

For me the winner will come from one of a few players. Iga Swiatek and Elena Rybakina have won this title before so it is easy to favour them.

But for me they will be joined in contention by Aryna Sabalenka who has never won this title which scrubs her from favourite contention. She has reached the final and lost multiple times.

While Ekaterina Alexandrova and Jelena Ostapenko for me are top picks outside the status quo. Both are ultra impressive indoors and are two of the best at playing on the surface and the challenges it offers so if any of the big names fall, expect them to pick up the pieces.

*** Iga Swiatek

** Elena Rybakina, Aryna Sabalenka

* Ekaterina Alexandrova, Jelena Ostapenko

Lucas Michael, Editor for TennisUpToDate.com sees a certain Coco Gauff recapturing her form.

Many of the best players in the world will be making the trip to Stuttgart as the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix looks set to be hotly contested. Many will look to make an impression on clay but only one will leave triumphant.

The indoor clay surfaces regularly host a deep run from Aryna Sabalenka. She has reached the final four times but returns with the hope of winning her first title. The latest final defeat came against Jelena Ostapenko last year. Her form undeniably makes her the outright favourite for a successful run in Germany.

Seven members of the top 10 are featuring. This includes former champions Elena Rybakina and Iga Swiatek, both in contrasting form. Swiatek has been fond of this tournament in the past with it possibly being the spark that gets her season back on track.

Gauff for revival in Stuttgart?

Coco Gauff and Jasmine Paolini are skilled operators on clay but have a lot of points to defend in this tricky period. The American has returned to form with a final in Miami and she will be firmly in the mix for a first title in 2026.

Former Roland Garros finalist Karolina Muchova and reigning champion Ostapenko will all be within a solid shout. As for the winner, I believe Gauff will get the better of the likes of Sabalenka and Rybakina to win a maiden title in Stuttgart.

*** Coco Gauff

** Aryna Sabalenka, Elena Rybakina

* Karolina Muchova, Iga Swiatek, Jasmine Paolini
