Drew McIntyre isn’t going anywhere—despite widespread assumptions that his Hollywood project would pull him off WWE TV after WrestleMania 42.
This directly shuts down the idea that McIntyre would be taking time off to film the upcoming Highlander reboot. With his match against Jacob Fatu looming, many expected WWE to write him out temporarily—but that’s not happening.
The speculation really picked up following the March 20, 2026 episode of SmackDown, where McIntyre and Fatu brawled on an elevated scaffold and crashed out of sight. The moment felt like a setup—something WWE could use to weaken McIntyre heading into WrestleMania and potentially write him off afterwards.
But it turns out that’s not the direction at all. Instead of taking a break from WWE, McIntyre has been juggling both commitments at the same time, traveling back and forth internationally to keep everything on track. Ringside News learned a few weeks back that Drew McIntyre would be traveling back and forth to Scotland to film his role in the Highlander reboot.
Rather than stepping away after WrestleMania, McIntyre will be actively balancing WWE appearances with film production. Even more notably, scheduling has been structured to avoid any disruption to WWE programming. His team was able to assemble a filming schedule that prevented him from missing any WWE dates or production needs.
That means no extended absence, no post-WrestleMania write-off, and no pause in his WWE run—despite being part of a major Hollywood production alongside Henry Cavill.
While many expected the Highlander reboot to take McIntyre off TV, the reality is the exact opposite—he’s staying fully active, handling both wrestling and filming at the same time.
Do you think Drew McIntyre balancing WWE and a Hollywood role will impact his performance heading out of WrestleMania 42, or can he handle both at the highest level? Let us know your thoughts and leave your feedback.
