Manchester City will hope to take a significant step towards the Premier League title when they visit relegation-threatened Burnley on Wednesday evening.
Pep Guardiola’s side beat league leaders Arsenal 2-1 on Sunday and will move level on points with the Gunners if they beat the Clarets.
The Citizens’ goal difference is currently one goal worse than Arsenal’s but victory over Burnley would move CIty above the north London outfit as they have scored more goals this term.
In the meantime, it is emerging that one member of Guardiola’s squad could be open to a move away from The Etihad this summer.
As reported by Florian Plettenberg, goalkeeper James Trafford is open to the prospect of a move away from Manchester City during the upcoming transfer window.
Trafford, 23, returned to Manchester City from Burnley last summer, having swapped The Etihad for Turf Moor in 2023.
After a hugely impressive season with the Clarets in the Championship, Trafford instantly became City’s first-choice ‘keeper and started their first three games of the Premier League season, keeping one clean sheet.

He fell down the pecking order in September, though, when City signed Gianluigi Donnarumma from French champions Paris Saint-Germain.
Trafford has not featured in the Premier League since the Italian’s arrival in Manchester, with the Englishman’s appearances limited to the domestic cup competitions, as well as one appearance in the group stage of the Champions League.
In total he has made 14 appearances across all competitions so far this season, keeping seven clean sheets and conceding 14 goals.
Plettenberg claims that Brighton and Hove Albion regard Trafford as the ideal candidate to replace current goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen if he departs The Amex this summer, although he is also on the radar of several other unnamed English clubs.
Despite this, it is claimed that Manchester City are keen to keep hold of the former Bolton Wanderers loanee.
