I was sitting on an adirondack chair to the right of nine green at The Cradle on Sunday when a familiar feeling rose from my chest to my cheeks and ultimately built a pool in my eyes. Now I’m not a crier – believe me, I’ve tried – but my heart still warmed at watching all nine holes on the par-3 course at Pinehurst Resort sprinkled with female golfers. I heard cheers for everything from greens in regulation to lag putts that whispered at the hole. Each of the past five years at The Lily at Pinehurst have been special and the sixth edition added to our sweet history. The number of first-time attendees was thrilling and reassuring. A huge thank you to the women who joined me for a perfect spring weekend and I can’t wait for the next golf getaway: Bandon Dunes, in June.
So if you’re new here – welcome! I hope we have the opportunity to show you what this special community is all about in the very near future.
