Former WWE talent Daniel Rodimer seeks dismissal of Las Vegas murder charge

According to a report from FOX 5 – KVVU TV in Las Vegas, Nevada Attorneys for former WWE talent and former Nevada congressional candidate Daniel Rodimer filed a motion to dismiss the murder charge against him in the death of a man on the Las Vegas Strip.

Back on October 29, 2023 following a Halloween Party, 47-year old Christopher Tapp was found dead inside a suite at Resorts World Las Vegas. FOX 5 also notes that the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police had initially ruled Tapp’s death as accidental only until later found out he was involved in an altercation in the room.

The Clark County Coroner’s Office has ruled Tapp’s death a homicide.

FOX 5 also notes that Prosecutors state Rodimer attacked Tapp at the party. In the defense filing by Rodimer’s attorneys, the argument states argue the Clark County coroner’s findings show Tapp’s injuries were the result of drug and alcohol use and were not suspicious.

Furthermore, the motion also alleges police violated attorney-client and spousal privilege by intercepting Rodimer’s text messages with his lawyer and his wife.

Rodimer has plead not guilty.

In July 2006, Rodimer signed a one-year developmental contract with WWE and wrestled under the name of Dan Rodman. He was assigned to Deep South Wrestling. He made his main debut on an episode of Heat later that year, defeating Eugene. He was then sent to Florida Championship Wrestling and was released from his contract on August 22, 2007.

Rodimer won the Republican primary for Nevada’s 3rd congressional district in 2020. However, he lost narrowly to Democratic incumbent Susie Lee in the general election.
