Georgio Poullas, a star with Real American Freestyle (RAF) Wrestling, was arrested on aggravated battery charges in Delray Beach, Fla. on June 6.
According to the police report, Poullas allegedly threw another person through a glass table at a bachelor party taking place at an AirBnb and the person suffered laceration injuries as a result.
A report from MMA Fighting states, “Poullas and his brother Nicholas were allegedly ‘berating’ their sister, who was also the bride-to-be, at the event that was also serving as a bachelorette party. The groom and his brother apparently stepped in between the Poullas brothers after Nicholas allegedly pushed his sister and that’s when the altercation allegedly turned physical.”
The groom told police that he was hit in the face several times by Nicholas Poullas, and after falling to the ground, he said he was punched and kicked repeatedly. He described the situation as if he was being “curb stomped.”
When the groom’s brother attempted to intervene, police said that Georgio grabbed him and “slammed him onto a glass coffee table.” Poullas allegedly continued hitting the groom’s brother and choked him as the fight continued.
In high school wrestling, Poullas was a former Ohio High School Athletic Association champion and Walsh Jesuit Ironman winner. At the NCAA Division I level, Poullas wrestled for both the Cleveland State Vikings and Rider Broncs during his collegiate wrestling career.
He is known as a social media influencer, making videos where he offers $1,000 to people who can successfully perform a takedown on him.
Following his controversial bout with Arman Tsarukyan at RAF 06, Poullas reportedly received the highest-salary ever paid to a competitive wrestler for their headlining rematch at RAF 07.
