High School Boys Golf Regionals At Washtenaw Golf Club

Washtenaw Golf Club played host to the Michigan Boys Golf Division 3 Regional 17 on Tuesday.

As a former high school golf coach and retired teacher, I am grateful for all of the golf clubs across the state that set aside days to allow high school golfers to compete. On a beautiful day such as this, they could no doubt make a lot of money selling tee times to the public. Instead, these clubs have chosen to pay it forward to the next generation of golfers.

Hopefully, some of those golfers and their families will be as enamored as I am of Washtenaw Golf Club and choose to come back to play on their own.

Playing in the regional were Algonac, Almont, Ann Arbor Gabriel Richard, Ann Arbor Greenhills, Bath, Brighton Charl Stockwell Prep, Burton Atherton, Burton Bendle, Clawson, Corunna, Detroit Communication media Arts, Grosse Point Woods University Liggett, Laingsburg, Lansing Catholic, Leslie, Ovid-Elsie, Perry, Pontiac Notre Dame Prep, Richmond, Rochester Hills Lutheran Northwest, Stockbridge and Waterford Our Lady of the Lakes.

Ann Arbor Greenhills, Lansing Catholic and Bath qualified as teams. Cole Kline of Perry (scoring 80), Cameron McLeod of Ann Arbor Gabriel Richard (82) and Nolan Williamson of Waterford Our Lady of the Lake (82) were the individual qualifiers.
