Attention then shifts to the 9th place play-offs, with Brazil 7s taking on Great Britain 7s in the women’s category at 06:32, before Great Britain 7s return to face Uruguay 7s in the men’s fixture at 07:00.
In the women’s 7th place play-off, Fiji 7s will battle Spain 7s at 07:28, while Kenya 7s will be in action shortly after in the men’s 5th place play-off against France 7s at 07:51.
Kenya will be keen to bounce back strongly following their narrow defeat to South Africa in the Cup quarter-finals, with a top-five finish still within reach.
The focus will then shift to the Cup semi-finals, beginning with Canada 7s facing New Zealand 7s at 08:14 in the women’s draw, before France 7s tackle Australia 7s at 08:37.
In the men’s semi-finals, New Zealand 7s will lock horns with South Africa 7s at 09:00 in a heavyweight encounter, while Spain 7s take on Argentina 7s at 09:23 for a place in the final.
