Game 3 of the Cleveland Cavaliers and New York Knicks’ Eastern Conference Finals series became an instant hit before it even started, thanks to the attendance of pop star Taylor Swift.
Swift and her fiancé, Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce, attended the game at Rocket Arena in Ohio on Saturday night.
Kelce hails from Ohio and has been a “Cleveland sports fan” his entire life. He has attended Cavs games in the past, sometimes with his brother Jason Kelce, so it’s not really surprising to see him make an appearance at the NBA playoff game.
However, Swift’s attendance sparked a different kind of discussion, as several fans noted that the global music icon is a Knicks fan.
“Taylor’s a Knicks fan,” a commenter wrote on the NBA’s video of Swift and Kelce sitting courtside. Another one said, “She’s a Knicks fan fyi.”

Is Taylor Swift a Knicks Fan?
For what it’s worth, there’s a reason why Swift’s attendance in Cleveland for the game stood out and why fans are saying she’s a Knicks fan.
Swift, in fact, admitted over a decade ago that she supports the New York franchise.
In an interview with TIME back in 2014, shortly after moving to New York, Swift said that she loved the Knicks “because Amar’e is so cool.”
Swift was referring to Amar’e Stoudemire, who played for the Knicks from 2010 to 2015.
“I love them, though. Why does that matter?” Swift said at the time when it was mentioned that the Knicks were playing poorly.
“So you run into a bunch of different, interesting types of people at the Met Ball. I’ve gone the last four years. And the most normal people at that event, every single time, are Amar’e Stoudemire and his wife Alexis. I talk with them and hang with them every time I’m there. So I’ve always had this sort of love of the Knicks, just because Amar’e is so cool.”
She added, “Also I performed at the Knicks’—at Madison Square Garden’s—Kids Talent Competition at halftime when I was 12 or 13. And ever since then I’ve had this kind of sparkly, magical opinion of Madison Square Garden and the Knicks, since they let me sing when I was a little kid.”
It’s unknown if Swift still feels the same about the Knicks, especially with Stoudemire long gone from the team. Not to mention, her partner is a massive Cavs fan.
