WWE Night of Champions took place at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, with the Queen of the Ring tournament reaching its final match. The winner earned the crown along with the right to challenge for the world championship of their choosing at SummerSlam.
In the first round of the 2026 Queen of the Ring tournament, Liv Morgan defeated Becky Lynch, Alexa Bliss, and Chelsea Green before submitting Charlotte Flair in the semifinals, while Iyo Sky advanced by defeating Roxanne Perez, Giulia, and Lash Legend before pinning Raquel Rodriguez to reach the finals.
The Queen of the Ring tournament has only been held a handful of times, but every winner has gone on to make a big impact. Zelina Vega became the inaugural winner in 2021, followed by Nia Jax in 2024 after the tournament returned, and Jade Cargill added her name to the list in 2025. Since 2024, winning Queen of the Ring has come with a Women’s World Championship match at SummerSlam, making the crown more valuable than ever.
This final match in the Queen of the Ring tournament went down as the second match of the night, right after Oba Femi beat Jey Uso to become the King of the Ring. Before this match even got started, Liv Morgan interrupted Danhausen in the middle of his promo, and he cursed her. So, this wasn’t the best start for the Women’s World Champion.
This match got started with both competitors feeling each other out as fans chanted “ole! ole! ole! ole!” They kept going as Liv and IYO both seemed to have answers to each other’s best moves.
This was an evenly matched contest, but IYO Sky proved Danhausen’s curse is nothing to be messed with in the end. She nailed an Over The Moonsault and got the win in Saudi Arabia. She made it clear that she will face Morgan at SummerSlam right after the match.
Now IYO Sky will get a win at a title at SummerSlam. Only time will tell if we see a rematch between IYO and Liv Morgan in Minneapolis. WWE SummerSlam 2026 will take place over two nights, Saturday, August 1, and Sunday, August 2, at U.S. Bank Stadium.
