“I think coming into the league, I think a lot of people just assumed that I didn’t really do anything offensively, which if you worked out with me, if you knew me, if you played against me, you would know that’s not the truth. I’m very good getting downhill. Very good at getting to the cup. Very good at kicking out to shooters. Like I said, I can pass, I can dribble, and I love making plays for myself and others. Obviously, the biggest thing for me is being able to become a really good catch-and-shoot threat to where I can open up my drive and my finishes and my playmaking for other people as well. Also coming off of ball screens. Being a shooter off the dribble is a good thing, you know what I mean? I think there’s a lot of guys that I see my future with, whether it’s the Jrue Holidays of the world, the Derrick Whites of the world, even the Lu Dorts and Kris Dunns of the world. Those guys that are able to fit in any role and to fit in any position. Those are guys that I’ve been looking at a lot.
“But I think, like I said, I’m a guy that really believes I can be a one-of-one player. I know that sounds crazy to anybody that just watches basketball and doesn’t know a lot about me, but that’s truly how I think of myself. I think, like I said, being able to grab boards, being able to pass, being able to get out in transition, defend one through five and offensively play one through five — I think is something that’s unique and I don’t know a lot of players in league history that are able to do that at a good rate. So, being able to value and hang my hat on that is big. But obviously, the shooting is the biggest thing that I want to become: a great shooter moving forward, and I have a plan to do that.”
