Jaxson Dart makes ‘violent’ promise for head coach John Harbaugh

The New York Giants are primed to take a huge leap forward during the 2026 season. New York added John Harbaugh as their new head coach, which could usher in a new era of prosperity for the organization. Harbaugh’s hard-nosed approach to football is already rubbing off on his players.

Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart explained what has him most excited about New York’s new offense ahead of the 2026 season.

“I just think that we’re very versatile, I think it starts there,” Dart told ESPN’s Jordan Raanan. “The other thing is I just can’t wait for all my boys to be back healthy. I’m excited for the pieces we brought in, they’re going to help us a ton. We’re just going to be a physical, violent team. That goes for the offensive side of the ball [and] the defensive side of the ball and special teams.”

Ranaan told Dart that multiple Giants players have said similar things about physicality and toughness. As Dart explained, that mentality is talked about in the team facility every single day.

“That’s what we hear every single day from [Harbaugh],” Dart added. “That’s the style that he wants us to play at, he has the right guys here for it. I just think that what he wants to do is what everyone on this team wants to be about. We’re hungry to win and I couldn’t think of a better coach to play for.”

New York may not start the season at full strength. Both Malik Nabers and Cam Skattebo are nursing injuries and may not be available for Week 1. Skattebo especially feeds into the physical nature of New York’s offense that Harbaugh is preaching.

It will be exciting to see how many games the Giants can win later this fall.
