Jim Ross Says He’s “Still Fighting” In Health Update From The Hospital

WWE Hall of Famer and AEW commentator Jim Ross shared a health update from the hospital, telling fans he is “still fighting.”

In a post on X, Ross, who posts as @JRsBBQ, wrote that he was on “Day 22 in the hospital in Norman,” referring to Norman, Oklahoma, where he lives. He said he was passing the time watching the College World Series, tagging his Oklahoma Sooners baseball program.

“Thanks for everyone’s kind thoughts and prayers,” Ross wrote. “Don’t count me out just yet. I’m still fighting!”

Ross, 74, did not detail the reason for the hospital stay, and the cause has not been publicly reported.

Ross has faced a series of health challenges in recent years. He was treated for skin cancer in 2021 and later said he was cancer-free, underwent hip surgery in 2024, and was diagnosed with colon cancer in May 2025 before saying that summer that the cancer was gone. He has also dealt with Bell’s palsy over the course of his career. In recent months, he had given periodic health updates on his Grilling JR podcast, citing travel as his main obstacle to returning to AEW commentary. Best wishes to JR.
