Keyshawn Davis vs Nahir Albright – Results & Post-Fight Report

Keyshawn Davis won the super lightweight grudge match at Scope Arena in Norfolk, Virginia, as he widely outpointed Nahir Albright over twelve rounds in their rematch.

This one was a rematch of a 2023 meeting between Davis & Albright, which was won by Davis before the result was overturned due to Davis testing positive for marijuana.

Davis (15-0, KO10) had subsequently became WBO world champion, and lost the belt on the scales, while Albright (17-3-1, KO7) had only fought twice since the first Davis fight, winless in both and drawing with Frank Martin in his most recent outing in February.

Davis established his jab in a frantic opening round, and used his footwork to good effect in the second to build an early lead.

A sharp right hand was the highlight of the third for Davis, and he loaded up on his left hand in the fourth to build a healthy early lead.

Albright finally came to life in the fifth, as he landed a huge right hand that buzzed Davis, but he was unable to capitalise, and he reverted to spoiling to stay out of trouble.

Davis’ frustration at that boiled over in the seventh, as he was deducted two points for intentionally throwing Albright to the floor, and the action became more and more fractured, with grappling taking over rather than boxing.

With the fight going into the championship rounds, Albright gambled, and was met with a barrage from Davis which further pulled him clear and although he went to close the show in the final round, he was unable to complete the job and the fight went the distance.

Two scores of 118-108 and a third at 117-109 sealed the win for Davis.

Yan Santana vs Cristian Cruz Chacon

The chief support saw Yan Santana (17-0, KO13) claim the WBO NABO featherweight title, as he was a points winner against Cristian Cruz Chacon (24-8-2, KO12) over ten rounds.

Scores of 98-92, 97-93 and 96-94 ensured Santana remained unbeaten.

Remaining Undercard

Former world champion Brian Norman Jr (29-1, KO23) returned after defeat to Devin Haney, and needed just two rounds to dispatch Josh Wagner (19-3, KO10) in their welterweight contest.

Kelvin Davis (16-1, KO8) was also a winner on the card, and took a split decision success against Peter Dobson (17-4, KO10) over ten rounds.

Also at welterweight. Scores of 99-91 and 97-93 won Davis the contest, against a tally of 98-92 for Dobson.

In the six-round contests on the card, super welterweight prospect Keon Davis (5-0, KO3) won all available sessions against Edwine Humaine Junior (9-3, KO7), and at super featherweight hope Dedrick Crocklem (7-0, KO3) did the same against Eric Howard (7-5, KO2).
